The Albino Rainbow Shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum – Albino variant) is a unique freshwater fish with a creamy white to pink body, vibrant red fins, and ruby eyes. Its sleek, shark-like shape and constant motion make it a bold visual feature in any mid-to-large-sized aquarium.
They typically grow up to 5–6 inches (12–15 cm) in length and maintain their coloration well when fed a balanced diet.

Tank Setup:

Due to their semi-aggressive and territorial behavior, these fish need a minimum 40-gallon tank with lengthwise swimming space and plenty of hiding spots—like caves, driftwood, and rocky structures. Substrate can be smooth gravel or sand. Use low to moderate flow filtration.
Avoid keeping multiple rainbow sharks together unless in very large tanks (over 100 gallons) due to territorial disputes.

Feeding: These omnivores will accept algae wafers, sinking pellets, spirulina flakes, bloodworms, and blanched vegetables such as zucchini and spinach. A varied diet keeps their color vibrant and behavior balanced.

Breeding: Breeding in captivity is rare and difficult. Albino Rainbow Sharks are commercially bred in farms under controlled conditions. Home aquarists are unlikely to breed them successfully without advanced techniques and large tanks.

Compatibility: Semi-aggressive—best suited for community tanks with robust species such as Gouramis, Barbs, Danios, and large Tetras. Avoid slow or bottom-dwelling fish like Corydoras, loaches, and other sharks to reduce territorial aggression.
